Owner Story
Beth has been in the pet grooming business for 34 years, and converted to a Splash and Dash Groomerie & Boutique as way to update.
“We went from basically having one card file. We didn’t even have a computer in the store. Now we have four computers. Everything is beautifully designed and it inspires my employees to sell more. We track everything and we love to see where we are, the system doesn’t lie. Now we couldn’t live without it.”
You can’t be in this industry as long as Beth has and no be passionate. On average Groomers work for about 7 years before burning out. Beth went to pet grooming school and has loved it for over 3 decades. Her experience in the industry has led her to understand the relationship between pet and person.
“They’re really not your pet, they’re your baby, and we get that. We respect that.” Beth is of course a dog owner herself. “My own dog at home is my baby. Her names Tillie and she’s a great little Cairn Terrier.” Tillie lives in the lap of luxury and is pampered to no end. Beth’s shop runs on great service, a positive experience, and a lot of love.
“I’m very proud of my employees. Groomers are artists, and I’ve had my manager for 15 years. They have my back, it’s great.” Being in upstate New York, Beth has had the opportunity to find awesome hobbies in the beautiful landscape of Monroe.
“I love dogs, and horses are my hobby. I have ridden on a national level with equine horses and gone to world championship horse shows. I just love animals and being outside in nature. I really do love it.” – Beth McElroy
